UK Installation Guidelines
Please make sure when you are installing any connection to your mains water supply, you install the correct equipment to prevent contamination of the water supply, as per the legal requirements set out in the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Bylaws in Scotland. These regulations and bylaws are detailed with additional guidance in the Water Regulations Guide, published by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS).
For information on the requirements please visit WRAS website.
Below is a diagram showing the sequence of equipment needed to correctly install Hozelock watering equipment, incorporating the Double Check Valve (2181) to prevent mains water contamination issues.
Please note this product is only for use with cold water.
For taps that provide mixed hot and cold water, such as kitchen taps, additional back flow prevention devices (such as single check valves) may be required on the hot and cold water supplies to the tap. This would prevent back flow between them. If you have any doubts whether your system requires this additional protection, seek professional advice or contact your local water supplier.
