1. Calathea Lancifolia

It’s an ideal addition to a room with low light, due to its easy watering schedule. The Calathea lancifolia grows best in fast-draining soil that can be fertilised during warmer temperatures. Simply place in a bright room (away from any direct light), and your plant will thrive. Water when the soil is dry to the touch, they also enjoy a misting of water too.

It is a low-maintenance plant that requires water when the top few centimetres of compost have dried out during spring/summer. Reduce watering in winter and liquid feed once a month during warmer temperatures.

Place your Venus Flytrap on a bright windowsill where it receives plenty of sun, and keep it watered well with distilled or rainwater. Try placing in a high-humidity room with good airflow and in-direct sunlight. For extra humidity, you can try misting the plant every so often, making sure that the soil stays damp.

They thrive best when kept out of direct sunlight, they also don’t need too much hydration. Only water when the top inch or two of the soil is dry and keep it in warm conditions.

Orchids are one of the most popular indoor house plants but can be somewhat challenging to keep alive and healthy. With proper care, orchids can last a long time by watering once a week in winter and twice a week in warmer months. Your orchid will live longer when placed in an indirectly bright, warm room. It will typically bloom once a year for up to three or so months. The flowers will die off and hopefully come back six-nine months later.
